Central Labor Council Endorses Marano for Freeholder and Russo for Sheriff in Somerset County
Middlesex-Somerset AFL-CIO Central Labor Council announced the Somerset County endorsements of Melonie Marano for Freeholder and Darrin Russo for Sheriff in the November 5 2019 elections.
“It’s an honor to have the men and women who build our homes, workplaces and vital infrastructure supporting our campaign to do better in Somerset County,” said Marano, the former Mayor of Green Brook Township. “We recognize the vital contributions working families make to Somerset County, and are committed to building an economic environment that supports their needs.”
“As a union member and President myself, I know the hard work and amazing contributions union members make to our communities, especially here in Somerset County,” said Darrin Russo, who retired as a Lieutenant in the Franklin Police Department after 30 years. “As Sheriff, I will make sure Somerset County’s law enforcement supports a secure, safe environment for our working families by partnering with their local police, schools, houses of worship, and neighborhood groups.”
“The Middlesex-Somerset AFL-CIO Labor Council supports Melonie Marano for Freeholder and Darrin Russo for Sheriff,” said Wayne Martiak, President of the Middlesex-Somerset AFL-CIO Central Labor Council. “Melonie and Darrin understand the importance of making Somerset County a place for working people to raise a family and to keep them safe. They will fight for the middle class and all working families whenever it is needed.”
